WRC Generations profile

Hello, first of all the WRC Generations profile is overall really great, the best yet of all the WRC games. I’m really optimistic about the future of d-box with driving simulation.

I just wanted to share one observation. I’m not getting much tactile feedback on traction loss or lockups. I thought this might be adjusted by the longitudinal “skid vibration” setting but I can’t seem to induce this. For example, too much power on gravel, causing wheelspin, or locking up wheels on braking.

Now here’s what is a bit strange: last year, WRC10 had this same problem, but 2 years ago WRC9 seemed to model this very well, I could feel traction loss and lockups on individual wheels, which was incredibly immersive. It may be that the developer no longer feeds this data to the d-box system. I just wanted to point this out in case it’s something else that I’ve missed in adjusting the profile.

Thanks!

Have you ever worked out the problem with the traction loss/lockup tactile feedback problem you were having? Thanks!

Hi Michael, I reached the conclusion that WRC likely isn’t outputting that data, there doesn’t appear to be a way to tune it back in with the profile sliders.

Switching back to Dirt Rally 2, you definitely can feel the wheel spin and lockup so that’s my go-to rally sim for now. I think WRC does better on suspension modeling and weight transfer but it’s too immersion-breaking to lock up on gravel and not feel anything. The next WRC is being developed by the Dirt Rally team, so I’ve got big hopes for that one.

Thanks, I think I’ll stick to WRC 9 and Dirt Rally 2 for now!
